These are bad quality

I received on in the ERCF kit put together by Triangle Labs and it failed in a couple hours. West 3D replaced it and that one failed after 12 filament swaps. After letting them know about the second failure the reply was “ We don't have any of these other than the batch we got. And those seem to be very hit or miss. So I would not want to have you get one of them.”

I would stay away from these but maybe there are some good ones in that batch.

Works well with my ERCF v2

My original encoder somehow stopped functioning but this encoder came with the correct JST connector already and seems to be working well with my MMB CAN board for ERCF V2

Good, except...

This thing works good. Got one with my ercf kit, but it stopped working after 3 filament test loads so ordered 2 more, have only used one and it's working flawlessly, Arrived quickly and everything I've got from West3d has been just a described. Thanks!

Description

The original Filament Encoder of ERCF based on the TCRT5000 PCBs is working for some people but is also creating headaches for lots of other people and also makes up quite a good amount of support questions on discord.

Please note that only 1 of these are needed per ERCF setup.
