Loving this so far.

Replaced my Phaetus Dragon UHF Hot End with this neXt G Fiber. I use only volcano DiamondBack nozzles and with having a collection of them need something to keep them. Originally had the E3D V6 Volcano and when i built my Voron went with the Dragon UHF and used my volcano nozzles with it once i got the straight throw UHF adapter I think that comes with the Rapido. Has been a really great hot end but always hated the 8.5mm of z height I lost with it. Was perusing this sight for other parts for my Voron and came across this neXt G Fiber hot end. Loved the Idea of it, had no reason to change out my hot end but then i could gain back my 8.5mm and still use my volcano nozzles, so I went ahead and ordered one. When I got it in was so excited to install it, that I took no photos. So far it works great, going to run a max flow test here shortly to see how it compares to the Dragon UHF. Of course with the greatness of West3d the purchasing process and shipping was amazing and my daughter loves the caramel apple sucker in every package, she doesn't know there is another package coming in a week.

Impressive retractions

I tend to stick with a 0.40 mm nozzle. My machine prints at 250 mm/s & 4000 mm/s2. At these flow rates I do not tend to exceed 24 mm/s3. So I did not install the high flow extender. Best decision ever. The retractions are fantastic. 0.50 mm with PLA on a standard V6 nozzle. No oozing/leaking. Only downside was the kinematic coupling combined with the 4 screw mounting pattern limit the number of positions that the cables route out and the steel stiffener bundle with cables as strain relief press down on my fan duct. I will need to re-design that to be compatible. The silicone boot is too thick at the nozzle making it necessary to remove the silicone before removing the nozzle - so no simple one handed nozzle change as claimed by the manufacturer. Doesn't matter - I still prefer this over my prior Rapido 2.0. I paired it with a Diamondback nozzle so I wouldn't ever really need to change the nozzle. Now I am set up for abrasives with glass/carbon fillers, and can print PLA/PET/TPU just as easily with no hardware changes. Huge fan of this. Glad the Rapido was out of stock when I went to purchase so I ended up with it.

Only gotten to do 2 prints so far but its so smooth and really good detail.

Description

Ultra High Flow rate

With a new heater and hotend design the neXt G was designed to achieve higher flow rates. Utilizing the ultra-high flow nut adapter, the melt zone can be further extended to achieve a maximum printing flow rate of up to 45mm3/s.

Rigid Kinematic Coupling System

The kinematic coupling system of the neXt G hotend ensures that your heater block is super rigid, while significantly limiting the heat transfer to the heatsink. This rigid structure protects the heatbreak from bending if your bed leveling fails. This rigid structure protects the heatbreak when the nozzle scrapes over a warped print. One-handed nozzle changes are possible and even if the nozzle is tightened too thoroughly the rigid structure will protect your heatbreak.

V6 Nozzle Compatibility

A major request for the neXt G hotend was the compatibility with the V6 nozzle system. You can now use V6 nozzles on the neXt G hotend to ensures freedom of choice on nozzles.

Same Footprint As A Dragon Hotend

The neXt G was designed to have the same dimensions as the Dragon hotend which makes it compatible to the big repository of Dragon hotend attachment systems (e.g. Voron, Creality etc.). With the Groove Mount adaptor, it can also be used on the Prusa printers (e.g Mk2, Mk3 etc.)

New Ceramic Heater

The neXt G hotend uses an efficient ceramic heater plate which is more cost effective and easier to maintain than a ceramic ring heater
