This board is a critical safety and performance component that sits between the printer's mainboard and the high-voltage heating element. Unlike many budget 3D printers that use 24V DC to heat the bed, the Centauri Carbon 2 uses an AC-powered heating system for near-instant heat-up times.

Core Functions
High-Power Switching: The mainboard (50.204.0305) is not designed to handle the massive current required by an AC bed. This dedicated board acts as a "relay" or "switch," allowing the low-voltage signals from the mainboard to control the high-voltage AC power safely.

Thermal Protection: It includes onboard safety circuitry to prevent "thermal runaway." If the mainboard crashes while the bed is heating, this board is designed to fail-safe and cut power to the heater.

Precision PID Regulation: It works with the bed's thermistor to maintain a stable 110°C, ensuring that technical materials like ASA or Carbon Fiber-reinforced filaments don't warp or lift mid-print.

Why It's Important
The Centauri Carbon is famous for its speed, and that includes the pre-print phase. Because of this board, the bed can reach 60°C in roughly 60-90 seconds, whereas a standard DC bed might take 3–5 minutes.
