Its so good

Just got this set up and I am really liking it. I went through four versions of tap before deciding to try this since they're now available for purchase from West3D. The Beacon website has all the instructions and they're very easy to follow. (Im not new but def not a pro). Once I got it all set up I cannot believe how fast it is and how accurate the contact function is. I wish I had the budget to get one for all of my printers. Really kind of crazy how well it works. The Beacon company is on to a winner with this thing.

Simply Awesome!

After doing some research on the Beacon, I decided to pick one up from West 3D. I was mainly interested in this probe for the fast, pre-print meshes. Got it connected and went through the initial calibration from beacon's web site. At first, I was not impressed. I was coming from a Chaotic Lab CNC Tap v2 for my Voron 2.4. I could not get the first layers correct. After playing around with the settings and actually understanding how the Beacon probe works, compared to Tap, all I can say is I wish I would have done this sooner! This probe is hands down remarkable. I mainly print ABS/ASA filaments and the Beacon handles the temps just fine. The contact feature in the RevH is fantastic. It's very light touch compared to Tap and I use it for the initial calibration before prints. QGL is done via proximity. The values given for QGL are consistently lower than that of my Tap. Meshes on large prints are so much faster. If you are concidering one of these, get it!

Description

Works with Kalico and Klipper. Comes fully assembled and includes a 6ft USB cable.

Normal: Best for Annex or StealthBurner Printers

Low Profile: Best for VzBot, RatRig, or K3 Frostbite Printers

WARNING: Requires a conductive surface or substrate on printer bed to work. Bed stacks that include oversized fixed magnets are not recommended and may not work with Beacon. BTT Pi and BTT Manta are known to cause damage to Beacon devices, they must be used with an inline hub or a different SBC.

Eddy current surface scanner for 3D printers:

  • Native displacement output – no z motion necessary for sensing
  • Scan mode mesh – dense grid sampling in a matter of seconds
  • Low thermal drift – minimized by design, active compensation for everything else

RevH:

  • High Temp Accelerometer – measurement up to 100C, standby up to 115C

Printer Compatibility:

  • Firmware: Klipper
  • Connection: USB to Single Board Computer
  • Bed: Conductive surface or substrate, 400um or thicker. Bare steel, WHAM BAM, PEI coated or laminated steel, etc. Use with beds employing large or oversized fixed magnets is not recommended.

  • Low Profile: main PCB and sensing PCB are assembled flat (as well as the cable connector)

Warranty:

  • 30-day standard warranty (following the date of delivery to you)
  • Using a BTT Pi or BTT Manta board with the Beacon without an inline hub voids the warranty
