A few minor issues, but this is a beta kit…but overall the usual great quality from LDO.
And West3D also delivers by adding in free tpu parts…
I can confirm. It does print like butter. Prints done in the dark red asa-cf have an incredible finish and the color is amazing. Printed at west3d's recommended settings and had 0 problems right out of the box. It really leaves nothing to be desired.
Very happy with amount available and price per unit. Shipping time was good as well.
These fit my gCreate gMax XT+ modified.
Somehow I had got the wrong delivery address in my order. I am sure it was my fault but West3d went above and beyond and sent a order order out to replace the lost one. They did not have to do this as they could have just blamed me. It cost them 130 bucks but they have a customer for life!!
Amazing, well detailed & all parts are well packaged. Great support team if you ever have any concerns or questions.
Great tool board. If you're familiar with configuring and flashing Klipper/MCU, then the installation is straight-forward. I am not using the usb hub at this time. I recommend pairing the most recent NH-36 iteration with the most recent Klipper firmware release. I did get support through the West3d Discord.
Kit has all the hardware you need and they provide additional spares fasteners. very impressed with the push-fit ecas they provided in kit. Never seen one that was very durable (had to use a rubber mallet to get some of them fitted into the 3d printed part and since they are metal it survived the small impact calibration). unlike the cheap plastic ones that I have seen around. The wiring is just *chef kiss* very beautifully done and cut to perfect length. This kit was put together with a lot of love and care in mind. The parts all separated by bags made assembly very easy.
If I were to make a slight addition to the kit, I would like to see canbus cable option added in.
10/10 Would recommend this kit.
using this in my micron. it is a very nice extruder and I have had no issues at all. the upgraded gears is a nice addition for use with abrasive filament. that is the reason I chose this over others.
Really nice filament! Holiday green is a really unique color! It prints nicely and has a cool sparkle effect.
Hi Jay! That turned out great, thanks for sharing!
When dried and kept dry, the Titanium Anno makes beautiful prints, unfortunately it loves water. If my crawlspace ever has a flooding problem again, I can probably just toss a couple spools down there and go back to my day.
Hi Nick,
We love the Titanium Anno, but the ASA does need dried quite awhile espically if you are in a humid enviroment. The PLA doesn't seem to have the same issue.
These work great to allow the bed to expand on the mounts without contorting as it heats. They're easy to install, just follow along on Jon's GitHub and best of all the design retains the bed if you flip it over
Kit came as expected, well packaged and complete! I'm new to soldering and would've preferred the assembled version. Online tutorials for soldering and assembly of this kit are available and easily understood. I'd recommend this purchase if you're interested in what this device can do even if you're a beginner in soldering electronic components. (Maybe you could find someone with experience to help or do it for you as well, get creative if you can't do it yourself but really want this product!)
I ordered 5 rails and 2 extra carriages. All of them worked great and I got a cool sticker. Only thing is I really needed 500 mm rails, I made the 400 mm work but it would be great if y'all could add longer rails. Fantastic customer service. I called multiple times asking advise on different rails and they answered every time and were always very knowledgeable. Will order from them again.
If you like to tinker, this is a decent machine. I would not recommend it unless you really need the large print volume and don't have the money for something better.
Positives:
Great build volume
Looks nice
Smooth linear rails
Easy to setup
Negatives:
Bed could be used to serve soup
Build plate is low quality
Nozzle falls apart with PETG (this may be resolved on newer ones)
Inductive probe has bad thermal drift
Hi Jay,
Thank you for your review on the SOVOL SV08. We get these printers ready to ship out. I'm sorry you found parts of it disappointing. We do offer a wide variety of build plates that you might find helpful. If you need any assistance please email us at info@west3d.com
Hi Mark,
I'm sorry you are having issues with this product. We do offer warranty replacements if you reach out to us at info@west3d.com we'd be happy to get you a replacement!
I love these. I put them on every printer. they are a fun way to add a little more color and flair to your printer. straight forward install and easy to program with klipper effects .cfg already made for them.
Great results and affordable. I have used Galaxy Grey, Grey, Faded Desert Brown, Black, White, Orange, Blue, Rainbow, Yellow, and Red. I am very pleased with this filament, however, with the red and the yellow, the color of the spool (and the picture on the website) does not quite represent the printed color. I guess I wasn't expecting them to be so translucent. The orange is also a bit more pale/translucent than expected but close enough to the spool color for me.
No complaints on the performance, and now that I know about the semi-translucent nature, I can keep that in mind when choosing colors.
Hello, I can pass this along & appreciate your review. Some of our PLA colors are somewhat translucent & understand what you mean. I'm glad you had a good experience otherwise.
I have yet to install this toolhead board as I'm away from home. However I can say that I am impressed with the service from West3D. They took the old version of the board off the market as soon as some potential problem were identified with it and then let me know as soon as the replacement became available. I don't expect to have any problems with this board based on the reviews that I have seen.
Been running this in a Rapido v2 for some months now. A few tips when changing to this nozzle. Rerun PID tune not a high difference but there is one, run pressure advance and retraction test as well. Again won’t be a high difference but with the better thermal efficiency of tungsten you want to start with the basics to prevent any future headaches
